Starting March 7, JSC NC KTZ will increase tariffs for regulated railway services for freight transportation. The tariff increase will impact the export and transit of certain goods and the return of empty wagons, especially at Kazakhstan railway stations in the EAEU. The tariff hike will triple the rates for coal, iron ore, grain, and other specified goods, while gas and oil products, building materials, and other items will see a 1.44-2.38 times increase. The revenue from these increased tariffs will be reinvested into infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing railway capacity. These new tariffs are set to be in place until December 31, 2025.
