(Jeju=Yonhap News) Reporter Jeon Ji-hye = Jeju Island announced on the 13th that the 2025 Black Pork Festival will be held on the 18th and 19th at Gilgal Farm Land in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City.
Organized jointly by the Jeju Black Pig Producers Association and Gilgal Black Pigs, this event, themed "A delicious bite, a joyful atmosphere, joy from black pigs," offers tourists a special culinary experience.
Visitors to the festival can purchase black pork products at low prices and enjoy a variety of black pork dishes. There will be black pork taste comparison experiences, cooking classes, and black pork sausage making.
The festival will also feature various cultural and artistic performances by local artists, a children's play area and photo zone for family visitors, and a small market where visitors can experience local specialties.
Jeju black pigs, a Jeju-specific breed characterized by their black fur, have been maintaining their reputation through systematic conservation and improvement efforts since the 1990s.
Their meat has a uniform distribution of intramuscular fat and a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, boasting a smooth texture and excellent flavor.
