Tien Giang province in Vietnam has over 14,000 hectares under Thai jackfruit cultivation, resulting in an annual harvest of over 300,000 tons. The fruit is both consumed domestically and exported, especially to China, bringing a good source of income for farmers. With the increasing demand and price of Thai jackfruit, especially due to the 2024 dry season affecting supply, farmers are enthusiastic about the profit potential. The province is also investing in improving farming techniques and quality to meet official export criteria, with a focus on Thai jackfruit. There are plans to establish over 300 packaging facilities for fruits like durian, jackfruit, mango, and dragon fruit for official export to China.
