Thailand declares first ASF outbreak of the year

On June 5, Thailand reported the existence of an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) to the World Organization for Animal Health. The focus occurred on a farm with 70 animals in Chiang Mai. This is the first focus declared to the organization since September 2023. The source of infection is suspected to be wash feeding and fomites.
