Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture is planning to create a 'Pineapple Metropolis' in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, expanding to include pineapple farming regions in Phetchaburi, Ratchaburi, and Kanchanaburi provinces. This initiative aims to enhance support for growers in the country's leading pineapple-producing areas. So far in 2023, over 1.77 billion tons of pineapples have been harvested across five provinces. Thailand is the world's largest exporter of fresh and canned pineapples, generating around 20 billion baht (539.6 million euros) annually, which accounts for 32% of the global market.
