(Gangneung=Yonhap News) Reporter Yoo Hyeong-jae = The Foundation Korean Women's Training Institute has prepared a gift of appreciation called "Thank You Okgye" as part of the "ESG Symbiosis Project" to practice environmental protection and regional economic revitalization in line with this summer's family vacation camp.

This gift is not just a simple souvenir but a case of symbiosis that embodies three values: resource circulation, local food consumption, and regional institutional cooperation, and is provided on-site to the participating families in the camp.

"Thank You Okgye" consists of an upcycled paper bag made from newspaper collected by the Korean Women's Training Institute, which is manually reprocessed by the Gangneung Regional Rehabilitation Center, and seasonal agricultural products grown in Okgye-myeon, where the training institute is located.

All processes, from the production of the bag to the arrangement of the agricultural products, involved participation from local institutions and farms.

The Korean Women's Training Institute, which has been recycling printed materials and other items as resources on a daily basis, has now connected these efforts to actual production and consumption, thereby concretely practicing ESG activities.

The produced bags go beyond being simple eco-friendly items, contributing to resource circulation, job creation in the region, and the activation of rehabilitation workplaces.

The agricultural products included in the gift are fresh seasonal ingredients, such as potatoes, grown directly in the region, providing healthy food to the participating families.

Ham Young-ee, the director of the Korean Women's Training Institute, said on the 26th, "The process of revitalizing resources from the training institute and sharing agricultural products produced in the region is itself an ESG practice for a sustainable society," and added, "The training institute will fulfill the role of a public platform that connects the region and society beyond just being an educational space."
