The acreage under amaranth will increase in Ukraine

Areas under amaranth in Ukraine are expected to grow to 10,000 hectares. Volyn is the leader in crop cultivation. This was reported in the Association of producers of amaranth and amaranth products. It is noted that this year the Association is increasing the amaranth sown area to 10,000 hectares. At the same time, at least 1,000 ha is expected in Volyn. The decision to increase the area under amaranth was made on the basis of a large number of requests for marketable seeds, which Ukrainian producers simply could not meet from the 2023 harvest. For this purpose, the Association plans to establish primary cleaning and drying on the basis of the farm of farmer Oleg Shchesyuk from Kovel. "We are looking for other partners in the region (as well as in all regions of Ukraine) who have the capacity to clean and dry small-seeded crops in order to fully resolve this issue with minimal logistical costs," the Association added.
