The agricultural sector generates 244 thousand new jobs

With this advance, the sector came to represent 26% of all occupations in the national labor market, which grew by 2.3% in the same period, according to the study. The data indicate that the growth in agribusiness employment was driven mainly by the segments of inputs (+7.4%), agribusiness industry (+2.1%), and agribusiness services (+3.2%). In contrast, the primary segment — which includes activities such as farming and livestock — registered a contraction of 2.6%. The highlight goes to agribusiness services, which absorbed more than 325 thousand new workers, totaling 10.5 million occupations — the highest volume ever recorded in the historical series starting in 2012.
