With the aim of continuing to advance towards a more ethical and transparent production, Welfair has updated its Regulations. Version 4.0 will be published in October 2025 and will come into effect in stages starting from January 2026, introducing important improvements in measurement, traceability, and monitoring systems. Welfair is the independent animal welfare certification that evaluates, objectively and based on scientific evidence, the real welfare of animals in the different phases of production. Backed by external audits, Welfair is based on four fundamental pillars: scientific rigor, a focus centered on direct observation of the animal, independence, and a multi-species model. The evaluation carried out in each farm is supported by the four principles defined by the Welfare Quality i AWIN model: good feeding, good housing, good health, and appropriate behavior.
