The recent "Chile Stone Fruit Annual Report" and "Australia Stone Fruit Annual Report" released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) show that China's imports of fresh peaches and nectarines have been increasing annually. The import volume for the 2016/17 season was less than 10,000 tons, and it is estimated to exceed 60,000 tons for the 2024/25 season, marking more than a fivefold increase in less than a decade. Over the past seven years, China has only imported fresh peaches and nectarines from Chile and Australia. Chile's exports to China have been continuously increasing, while Australia's exports have been declining. For the 2024/25 season, approximately 57,000 tons of China's total imports, over 90%, came from Chile.
