The average retail price for a dozen eggs in Russia has decreased by 3% since January, now standing at 129.08 rubles. This comes despite a 61.35% price increase in December 2023 compared to 2022. Dmitry Leonov, deputy chairman of the Rusprodsoyuz association, stressed the need for long-term contracts with federal retail chains to maintain profitability amidst rising production costs. He also emphasized the need to assure poultry farmers of the profitability of their business to stabilize egg prices.
