Ecuador exported chicken meat for the first time to international lands on May 2, its first destination being the Bahamas. The San Isidro (Avisid) poultry company shipped nearly 28 tons to the Caribbean country, after complying with various phytosanitary and certification requirements imposed by the importing country, and which were supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Phytosanitary Regulation and Control Agency (Agrocalidad). Patricio Almeida, executive director of Agrocalidad, highlighted how attractive this market is due to the volume of tourist visits it registers.
