A study by the Buenos Aires Cereal Exchange's Survey of Applied Agricultural Technology (RETAA) has found that barley cultivation in Argentina is showing positive growth and technological advancements. The 2021/22 campaign saw 1.2 million hectares planted, with direct seeding adoption increasing by 10% to 84%, and a slight increase in nitrogen fertilization. However, phosphate fertilization saw a decrease. The study found that 53% of barley cultivation was at a high technological level, with the southeast of Buenos Aires showing the highest adoption rate at 78%.
