According to Tuesday's (10) analysis from the “Tem Boi na Linha” report by Scot Consultoria, the beef cattle market recorded a new advance in prices in São Paulo. The market opening indicated an increase of R$ 3.00 per arroba for beef cattle and for "China beef," while the price for heifers rose R$ 5.00 per arroba. The price for cows remained stable. According to Scot Consultoria, the upward movement occurred in a scenario of restricted supply, with sellers controlling the volume made available to the market. In this context, industries raised the prices paid per arroba to fulfill supply contracts and adjusted to the new price level, operating with shorter schedules and a reduction in the volume of slaughter. With still short schedules, the consultancy assesses that, for now, there is no expectation of a downward movement in prices.
