Since China reopened its land border after a three-year closure due to COVID-19, lobster prices in Cam Binh commune, a major lobster farming area in Khanh Hoa province, have fluctuated. Before the border reopening, domestic consumption led to low prices, but with the increase in Chinese market demand near the Lunar New Year, prices rose. Currently, green lobster sells for 720,000 VND/kg, making farming unprofitable due to high costs. However, there is hope for higher prices in the summer as tourism recovers and the Chinese market demands more lobster. Khanh Hoa province has over 60,000 lobster cages, producing about 1,300 tons of shrimp meat annually.
