Georgia has seen a significant increase in apple exports, with a volume of 1,753 tons exported by October 4, which is five times more than the previous year. Ninety-five percent of these exports, equivalent to 1,673 tons, are exported to Russia, with the remaining five percent divided between Kazakhstan and Armenia. The apple harvest is expected to reach a record 120,000 tons this year. The government's 'Unified Agricultural Project' and 'Plant the Future' initiative have aided in the modernization and organization of modern orchards in Georgia, with 1,128 hectares of apple orchards having been developed since 2015.
