The deadline for the georeferencing of rural properties is extended to 2030.

The Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Commission of the Chamber of Deputies approved a bill that extends by five years, until 2030, the deadline for owners of rural properties to complete the georeferenced identification of the properties. The approved text amends the Public Records Law. Georeferenced identification is a technique that determines the exact location and boundaries of a property, especially rural ones, using precise geographic coordinates, such as latitude, longitude, and altitude. The final deadline for georeferencing in cases of subdivision, parceling, re-parceling, and transfer of ownership of rural properties was established by Law 10.267/01 and Decree 4.449/02, which provides for staggered periods according to the area of the property.
