The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) plans to submit draft amendments to the regulation "On the safety of fish and fish products" for public discussion at the end of 2023. These amendments aim to clarify ambiguous wording and adjust safety requirements for fish products. One of the important changes is the inclusion of a definition for "surimi" minced meat, which is significant for Russian fish processors. The regulations will also address issues such as the transportation of live sea cucumbers, disinfection of infected cyprinids, and labeling of caviar's place of origin.
