The Regulatory Council of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin billed 808 million euros in 2024 after selling 68 million liters of wine, according to a report presented this Wednesday in Madrid. The study "Socioeconomic and fiscal contribution of the D.O Ribera del Duero of Spain" by the consulting firm PwC has analyzed the role of the Ribera del Duero wine sector as a "motor for economic, social, and territorial development." In total, the D.O Ribera del Duero accumulates 36 wineries in 110 municipalities, making it the second denomination of origin in Spain by number of wineries. In terms of exports, the denomination has exported 12.4 million liters worth 173 million euros, a fifth of the total value, it was noted. The main countries where these wines are placed are Switzerland, with 30 million euros; Mexico, with 22 million; and the United States, with 20 million in export value.
