The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to establish and distribute import quotas for meat products and whey for the next year, with specific amounts set for Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan. Pork will not be subject to a quota, but instead, a 25 percent duty will be imposed starting in 2021. The reason for the introduction of quotas is the significant discrepancy between production and consumption of these types of meat and dairy products in the region.
