The Agricultural Utilized Area (SAU) dedicated to organic production reached 2,229,493 hectares in 2023, which represents an increase of 19.2% compared to 2020, according to the latest Survey on the Structure of Agricultural Holdings by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Spain thus consolidates its position as one of the European countries with the largest organic area, with 9.5% of the total SAU directed to this type of production. In just three years, the country has added more than 350,000 hectares under sustainable practices.
