The EEC Council approved the duty-free import of 100,000 tons of beef to Russia

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) agreed on the duty-free import to Russia in 2023 of up to 100 thousand tons of beef for the production of meat products. Armenia will be able to import duty-free up to 10 thousand tons of this meat, Belarus - up to 7.5 thousand tons, Kazakhstan - up to 5 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan - up to 2.5 thousand tons, according to the EEC website. The main volume of meat imports from third countries falls on frozen products, which are intended for the production of canned meat and sausages. The approved measure, first of all, is aimed at providing meat producers with affordable raw materials and stabilizing consumer prices for it, the report says.
