The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has decided to exempt certain volumes of cattle meat in EAEU countries from export duties in order to boost domestic markets and develop the production of finished meat and sausage products. The largest exemption volume is set for Russia at 100,000 tons, with smaller quotas for Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The EEC clarified that this exemption only applies to non-beef intended for industrial processing and production of finished products, and excludes high-quality beef already produced domestically.
