The European Court of Auditors warns that EU funds to Sub-Saharan Africa are not reaching those in need.

The European Court of Auditors warned this Wednesday that a large part of the European Union (EU) funds intended to combat hunger and malnutrition in sub-Saharan Africa did not reach the people who needed them most. In its report, the auditors found that the European Commission (EC) "has made valuable efforts to combat food insecurity and malnutrition in sub-Saharan Africa, but that its actions have not always been directed to the people with the greatest needs and have not focused sufficiently on impact and sustainability." They also pointed out the "lack of a clear and documented methodology to prioritize regions or recipient groups," in addition to the fact that needs exceeded available funds.
