Kazakhstan has significantly reduced its export of potatoes, while the sales volumes of staple vegetables abroad have changed in different directions, reports EastFruit. In January-June 2025, the supplies of staple vegetables from Kazakhstan to other countries decreased severalfold. Potato exports amounted to 23.7 thousand tons for the half-year. This is immediately 12.4 times less than in the first half of 2024. According to LS, the main volume Kazakhstan sold to Uzbekistan – 17.2 thousand tons (-14 times). For comparison: in January-June of last year, 243.6 thousand tons were sent to this country. Supplies to Turkmenistan also decreased sharply – by 36.3 times, to 483 tons, and to Tajikistan – by 527 times, to 64.9 tons. At the same time, 5.9 thousand tons of potatoes went to Russia, which is 12 times more than in 2024.
