In the Far Eastern fishery basin, the volume of fish production increased by 11.2% to reach 2.2 million tons. This included an increase in pollock mining by 84.6 thousand tons compared to the previous year. In other regions such as the Northern Fishery Basin and the Western Fisheries Basin, the volume of production also saw increases, while in the Volga-Caspian and Azov-Black Sea fishery basins, smaller amounts of fish were caught. Additionally, in foreign exclusive economic zones and the open part of the World Ocean, the Russian fishing fleet caught 287.5 thousand tons of fish, a 1.7% increase from the previous year.
