The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Agricultural Technology Institute (Director Kim Dong-hoon) held a preliminary education for 131 heatstroke prevention officers at the Hoengseong Agricultural Technology Center on the 16th to push forward this year's new project, the "Agricultural Workers Heat Illness Prevention" pilot project, and to prepare for responding to the summer heat in rural areas of the province. The heatstroke prevention officers selected this time were composed mainly of leading farmers (farmer organizations, etc.) from 12 cities and counties. During the heat wave period from June to August, the prevention officers will guide the elderly farmers and other vulnerable groups to the heatstroke prevention guidelines at agricultural work sites and support on-site, closely-knit safety management activities. This education is being conducted ahead of the project to ensure the prevention officers are prepared.
