7,192 tons of horse mackerel quota from the Bay of Biscay by 2021 in Spain

MADRID, Aug 13 (EUROPA PRESS) - The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has published this Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE) the resolution of the General Secretariat of Fisheries in which the 7,192 tons of horse mackerel quota of the JAX stock is distributed among the different Spanish fleets / 2A-14 assigned to Spain in 2021. For their assignment, the criteria established in Order APA / 315/2020 that regulates fishing opportunities in the Kingdom of Spain have been used. The quota has been distributed between the Spanish purse-seine vessels that fish in national waters of zone 8b, very close to France, and the boats that fish in Community waters, 700 tons together, which will allow this fleet to face the by-catches carried out of both horse mackerel and mackerel and thus be able to comply with the landing obligation.
