The International Dairy Federation's president, Piercristiano Prazzale, identified a growing global demand for milk, particularly in China, Southeast Asia, and Africa, with India aiming to become the world's leading producer and consumer by 2030. He noted opportunities for Latin America, especially Argentina and Uruguay, as major dairy exporters. The European Union and the United States lead in cow's milk production, accounting for over 50% worldwide, while milk prices are experiencing a downward trend due to high inflation and the potential for reduced demand caused by an economic recession and COVID-19 restrictions in China. The Pan American Congress de la Leche is set to address environmental, social, and technological issues in the dairy sector.
