Increased grape berry density during harvest is achieved through the use of a plant growth regulator – synthetic cytokinin (CPPU). These results were obtained from joint studies by agricultural research institutions in Chile and the Netherlands, writes the journal "Horticulture in Ukrainian." Researchers examined how genes responsible for cell division and cell wall structure function in flowers treated with CPPU. It was found that after such treatment, cells begin to divide more actively, and their walls are restructured. As a result, more ovules form during flowering.
