At the Rahva campus of Bitlis Eren University (BEÜ), honey production, which began with a few hives four years ago and has reached 150 hives, aims to yield approximately 1.5 tons of honey this year. Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Elmastaş, who participated in the harvest of honey produced on the Bitlis Eren University campus, said they are conducting studies to produce quality honey and to support farmers who produce honey in this field. After opening the hives, Elmastaş individually examined the combs made by the bees, and stated that various plants have been planted to increase the honey harvest in the region where the yield is at a high level.
