Wando County in Jeonnam Province has established and announced its Third Climate Crisis Adaptation Plan. This plan is a mid-to-long-term strategy linked to the Third National Climate Crisis Adaptation Enhancement Plan, tailored to the characteristics of Wando County’s industries, coastal areas, and agriculture and fisheries. According to this plan, Wando County intends to invest 203.9 billion won over five years starting this year in 45 projects. This plan focuses on preventing and mitigating damage to the lives of the county’s residents and the overall regional economy caused by climate change, and on increasing resilience. However, in Wando, the center of abalone production, as well as in other abalone production centers such as Haenam and Jindo, cries for help are growing louder.
