Following the hospitalization of 54 individuals exhibiting signs of poisoning in the city of Uren in the Nizhny Novgorod region, a criminal case was initiated under the article concerning the provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements for the life and health of consumers. This was announced by the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region on its Telegram channel. "According to the investigation, in the period from April 5 to April 7, 2026, several people with signs of food poisoning were admitted to the city hospital of the Uren municipal district," the department stated. Those hospitalized noted that they had consumed raw water from the centralized cold water supply system. The Investigative Committee has begun to establish all the circumstances and has ordered tests on samples of the liquid.
