The Jeonnam Rural Technology Institute (Director Kim Haeng-ran) urged farmers to thoroughly manage drainage and winter preparations for stable production of barley and other cereals. Recently, favorable autumn weather conditions in the Jeonnam region have allowed for smooth sowing of cereals, but with winter precipitation expected to be somewhat higher than usual, initial drainage management and winter preparations such as soil compaction have been identified as key tasks for ensuring stable yields. According to the Meteorological Administration, temperatures are expected to be similar to previous years, but the probability of higher-than-usual precipitation in November and December is 40-50%, with January of next year also expected to be at or slightly above average levels.
