Asparagus is a niche product in Ukraine, with the largest plantations located in the Ustiluz community in Volyn. The owner, Oleksandr Sydorchuk, accidentally started growing asparagus after receiving seedlings from a friend, and the enterprise has since expanded. Ukrainian soils are well-suited for asparagus production, and the asparagus is now sold through supermarkets in Ukraine and for export. The area under asparagus in Ukraine is increasing, prompting farmers to consider processing options such as freezing and preserving.
