The lean Christmas table has become 11% more expensive.

The cost of 12 lean dishes for the Christmas table of 2025 is 913.57 UAH, which is 11% more compared to last year, reported the Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Business (UKAB), writes Interfax Ukraine. "Food prices on the eve of the Christmas holidays show mixed trends: due to the record reduction in the price of vegetables, the cost of some traditional dishes has decreased, but the overall cost of the Christmas table has increased due to the rise in prices of fruits, fish, and groceries," explained the association. Analysts noted that the feature of this winter season was "vegetable deflation." Thanks to a good harvest, the prices of vegetables in the "borscht set" significantly decreased: cabbage became 73% cheaper, carrots 63% cheaper, onions 58% cheaper, potatoes 54% cheaper, and beets 51% cheaper.
