The Leningrad region has seen a significant increase in its dairy production, with a 3% rise in daily milk production in January 2024 compared to the previous year, resulting in over 1.8 thousand tons produced daily. The region also saw a 4.6% increase in total milk production in 2023, producing 710 thousand tons, and a 5.5% increase in average milk yield per forage cow, the highest in Russia. Additionally, the region processed 241.4 thousand tons of raw milk in 2023, a 0.5% increase from 2022. This success is attributed to targeted selection and breeding work, with the region leading in these efforts across Russia.
