A unique campaign to stock the Dnieper river with young sturgeon species, including sterlet, sturgeon, and beluga, has been initiated in the Kherson region of Ukraine. Orchestrated by the Dnieper sturgeon fish factory named after acad. S.T. Artyushchyka, the initiative aims to release 1.3 million sturgeon specimens into national reservoirs by the end of July. This marks the first time in over three decades that three sturgeon species will be released simultaneously, with the goal of restoring and replenishing their numbers. The campaign is led by the State Fisheries Agency, emphasizing the importance of fish stock conservation and the contribution of artificial reproduction to the fishing industry. Citizens are encouraged to report any violations of fishing rules or the order of purchasing aquatic bioresources.
