The National Financing Institution for Studies and Projects (Finep) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) announced the launch of 13 calls with non-refundable resources (economic subsidy) of the order of R$ 3.3 billion for projects that will boost the New Brazil Industry (NIB). The segment that will receive the largest share is energy transition, with R$ 500 million. The announcement was made this Friday, the 6th, at an extraordinary meeting of the Business Innovation Movement (MEI), at the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), in São Paulo. The calls aim at reindustrialization in strategic sectors, with a focus on sustainability, technological autonomy, and reduction of external dependence, in addition to generating jobs and income for the country.
