The Ministry of Agrarian and Irrigation Development (Midagri) inaugurated an Agromercado headquarters in Huacho, in the Lima region, to promote commercial articulation for small agricultural producers, with special emphasis on the region's strategic productive chains. From this headquarters, Agromercado will provide technical and commercial services aimed at strengthening family agriculture's competitiveness in six provinces of Northern Lima: Huaral, Huaura, Barranca, Cajatambo, Canta, and Oyón. Among the prioritized chains are fruit trees such as avocado, peach, berries, passion fruit, and citrus, as well as chili peppers and dairy farming, sectors that have gained growing importance in the country's economy.
