Chocolate production in Russia has increased by 7.4% in 10 months of 2023, reaching 243.3 thousand tons, and production of unpackaged chocolate and cocoa-containing products has grown by 10.8% to 215.5 thousand tons. The Ministry of Agriculture attributes the potential increase in chocolate prices to rising world prices for cocoa beans, the weakening ruble, higher prices for logistics, and packaging. Market participants predict that chocolate prices in Russia may rise by 15-20% in 2024 due to these factors, including a 35% increase in logistics costs, a 30-50% increase in raw material prices, and a 50% increase in packaging and container costs since the beginning of 2023.
