The Gross Production Value (GPV) of the agricultural sector this year is expected to reach R$ 1,385 trillion, predicts the Ministry of Agriculture. The figure is higher than the R$ 1,351 trillion estimated by the ministry last month. Compared to the previous year, the forecast is for a drop of 3.9%. For 2025, the ministry also revised its projection from R$ 1,410 trillion to R$ 1,440 trillion. The perspective of a drop can be explained by the lower expected price for agricultural commodities this year and the slowdown in farm productivity. The projections are contained in a monthly bulletin from the Ministry's Agricultural Policy Secretariat. The data were compiled by Broadcast Agro, a real-time news system from Grupo Estado. The GPV is the gross revenue of rural establishments, considering agricultural and livestock production and the average prices received by rural producers across the country.
