Despite challenges like root rot and fusarium wilt, the berry is noted for its health benefits and high market demand, especially for frozen fruit. The country has started importing planting material, leading to the registration of new varieties and the establishment of early commercial plantations, albeit on a small scale. However, the lack of processing facilities poses a risk, and economic viability requires a certain plantation size for efficient processing.
