The order on the specific payment for cotton with a theoretical unit amount of €1,241.555 per eligible hectare goes to public hearing in Spain

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) has initiated the public hearing procedure for the draft order on the specific payment for cotton cultivation for the 2023/2024 and subsequent campaigns, with a theoretical unit amount of 1,241.555 euros per admissible hectare, for the purpose of obtaining the opinion of the representative organizations of the sector and of citizens in general. The basis of the standard is Regulation (EU) 2021/2115, of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the strategic plans that Member States must draw up within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which establishes a specific payment to cotton growers. The strategic plan of Spain includes this payment at the national level in its annex IV.
