Since the beginning of the current agricultural season, which started on July 1, until December 21, the export of soft wheat from the European Union member states as a whole reached 10.8 million tons, falling slightly short of the 11 million tons sent to third countries during the same period of the previous season, according to data from the European Commission. Romania remains the largest exporter of soft wheat from the EU during the season with 3.51 million tons, followed by France with 3.45 million tons, Lithuania with 1.25 million tons, Germany with 820 thousand tons, and Latvia with 640 thousand tons. However, the EC points out that the data on grain exports from Bulgaria and Ireland are incomplete since the beginning of the 2023-2024 season (July 1, 2023), for France since the beginning of calendar year 2024, and for imports and exports from Poland, there is a lack of data from October of this year.
