With a trade network involving 10 producing countries, 39 exporting countries, and 220 importing or consumer countries, palm oil has become a significant component of the global food industry. Approximately 70-90% of the traded palm oil is used for food purposes, finding its way into a diverse range of products. Additionally, palm oil by-products such as Palm Kernel Meal are essential for the animal feed industry, with Indonesia and Malaysia being major exporters. This makes palm oil a key contributor to global food security.
