The Protected Designation of Origin Sidra de Asturias issued last year 4,964,000 labels to certify the product, which represents an increase of 7.3% compared to 2024 and a new historical record. The value of all this certified cider exceeded seven million euros, a 16.7%, according to the balance offered this Wednesday by the Regulatory Council, which has highlighted "the good evolution of consumption" and "the market's confidence in the Sidra de Asturias brand". The DOP Sidra de Asturias has 34 cider houses, 395 harvesters, and 918 orchards with a total of 1,168 hectares registered, which represents an increase in the surface area of 20%. During the past year, 7,675,160 kilograms of apples were delivered to the DOP Sidra de Asturias and 5,567,056 liters of cider were produced.
