The Philippines saw a significant increase in the export of coconut oil in the October-November period of 2021, with around 200 thousand tons sold, up from 136 thousand tons the previous year. Overall, the country exported 820 thousand tons of coconut oil from January to November, the same as the previous year. However, the export of coconut meal increased from 230 thousand tons to 290 thousand tons during the same period. The report also mentions that the country received slightly above average rainfall in November, especially in Mindanao, which is home to most of the coconut trees.
