The port of Constanţa experienced a significant decrease in grain transshipment in the first half of 2024, following record exports of 11.76 million tons of agricultural products from countries like Romania, Ukraine, and Serbia in 2023. According to Maxym Kharchenko, the total agricultural product exports through the port last season were 28.7 million tons, with a peak in October at 3.9 million tons. This decline is due to decreased grain stocks in Romania and reduced flows of Ukrainian grain, despite the opening of the ports of Great Odesa. The port of Constanta continues to be a key hub for exporting the top 5 goods, accounting for 89.6% of the total export.
