Iran's catch from the Oman Sea and Persian Gulf was 751 thousand tons, with 290,000 tons belonging to the tuna and pseudo-tuna family, which is important for the economy and livelihood of coastal dwellers. Iran's exploitation of tuna fish in the Oman Sea and Indian Ocean is in a good state, with the country having the first place in the fishery of this fish in the western Indian Ocean and the second place in the entire Indian Ocean. The Responsible Fishing with Emphasis on Tuna Value Chain conference aims to focus on sustainable productivity, improving added value, and solving obstacles and problems, with the use of different fishing methods and processing techniques to preserve the quality of the fish.
